Summary

In Chapter 19, Levi drives Cath to the hospital. In the waiting room, she tells him that she saw him kissing the other girl. Believing that he thinks their kiss did not mean anything, Cath asks Levi to leave just as the orderly comes to show her to her father’s room. When she’s finished, he is gone.

At home, Cath sees the signs that would have let the twins know something was wrong with their father if they’d been there. At the hospital the next day, her father is lucid. He asks where Wren is and wonders if Cath should be at school, too. She stays with him until visiting hours are over.
