Female familial relationships

This novel explores the relationships of the women in the Marte family. The four older sisters, and two of their daughters, remain close and see each other almost every day. These women are mothers and daughters, nieces and aunts, cousins and sisters. Their relationships within one another are loving yet complex. Most importantly, these women show up for one another when they ask for help, and even when they do not ask.
