Summary
In Chapter 5, Keith goes to return a briefcase to its owner. He had carried it out of the World Trade Center thinking it was his, but he later realized that it was not. He had found a wallet and ID in the suitcase, so he contacted the owner before going to her apartment. Her name is Florence Givens, and she invites Keith inside. She works for a company that had been located one floor below the company. She and Keith talk about their experiences of September 11. She was very frightened, and by the time she exited the tower with the evacuating crowd, the immediate area looked like “a bombed-out city” (58). The narrative then shifts to Lianne.
