Summary
In Chapter 12, Callum states that he does not want to visit the seer, as Callum does not wish to know his future. However, Ava insists. They soon arrive at the man’s home and give him the jug of Lachlan’s whiskey in exchange for a prophecy. The man performs a brief ritual, after which he becomes solemn and says that h refuses to tell them their future. However, Ava insists. In Chapter 13, Ava and Callum continue to ride east. They are very solemn, as the seer told them that one of them would die before the end of the year. Ava and Callum exchange professions of love. They arrive at the home of a man and woman who give them food and shelter. At night, after Ava falls asleep, Callum talks to the man and woman in private. In Chapter 14, Callum leaves...
