Summary
In the fourth chapter, Corvallis, the rest of Dodge’s family, (including his sister-in-law Alice and younger brother Jake) and Stan get together at a hotel suite to figure out what to do next. Stan notes that Dodge’s living will instructs that he be taken off life support only if the technology is available to preserve his brain or body. After further discussion, they determine that they could still fulfill his will without using any specific company services by taking him off life support and freezing his body. Chapter 5 opens with Corvallis getting a call from the clinic where Dodge initially went asking him to pick up Dodge’s clothes and wallet.
