Berlin

Berlin is Germany’s capital and largest city. The narrator first meets Felix while she is on a brief vacation in Berlin. Felix is also American, but he has been living and working in Berlin. They form an interpersonal connection, and six months after the narrator returns to America, Felix decides to return to America as well. They begin dating long-term. After Felix’s supposed death, the narrator has a partial emotional breakdown. She decides to return to Berlin and live there long-term. She struggles to adjust to life in Berlin, but by the end of the novel, she is on her way to acquiring a visa and remaining in Berlin for the foreseeable future.
