Summary

In Chapter 28, Leah led the group, consisting of Charlie, Iota, Jaya, Eris, Radar, and the Snab through a door in the wall that took them back to the trolley house. They followed the sound of Hana mourning her daughter, Red Molly. When Hana saw Charlie walking toward her, she leaped off her throne toward him. He allowed her three strides before he shot her in the forehead, killing her.

Leah made a circling gesture with her hand, indicating they should hurry; but, Charlie insisted on taking her to the pool where the mermaid had lived. Leah moaned and collapsed. After she was finished crying, she shook her fists at the sky. Charlie held her hands until she loosened them and took his hands. He told her that Flight Killer had the mermaid killed because he was ruled by a force that hated beauty...
