Summary

In Chapter 9, Bowditch ordered both Charlie and Radar into the house when Radar began barking at the shed. Charlie could hear the same skittering noises he had heard before and the door was also moving as if something was trying to get out. Bowditch claimed it was nothing to be afraid of and said he would take care of it.

Bowditch left the house wearing his holster and gun. Charlie heard two gunshots. When Bowditch left the shed a few minutes later. He was out of breath and asked Charlie to help him back into the house. He promised to tell Charlie what had happened, but said he could not do it then because he was too tired. He warned Charlie to stay out of the shed for now.
