Summary

Chapter 18 is titled “Bahumat.” Kendra arrives back at the farm as dawn arrives. She knows she needs Viola's milk for the elixir and decides she will use blood from the cow and from herself just to be certain she has what she needs. She believes she will then give it to the fairies. Kendra gets enough milk from the cow to fill a tin, then pours it into the bowl of tears. She sets out to get blood from the cow and realizes the teat is probably the only place she has the strength to puncture. She finds a pronged tool and gets the blood, though Viola bawls at the pain. Kendra then uses a pin and drops some of her own blood into the elixir.
