Summary

Chapter 14 is “Trolling for Grandpa.” Grandma describes that her life as a chicken was filled with hazy impressions and that she could not focus on anything for long. The monsters rushing in through the window jolted her enough that she managed to leave the message. Grandma is dressed in a robe and slippers Kendra brought with them to Muriel's. Walking through the Preserve is difficult for her. Nero lives on a cliff. Grandma calls for him to lower the ladder but he says they will have to climb up a series of vertical logs if they want to talk to him. He agrees that if one of them climbs the logs, he will lower the ladder for the others. Before Grandma can start the climb, Seth leaps onto them, saying Grandma cannot make the climb in her robe and slippers. Kendra is fearful...
