Summary

Chapter 8 is “Retaliation.” Seth wakes the next morning to find the fairy is gone and a spider is in the jar. He goes downstairs to get his milk, hoping to see the fairy as herself when he returns. Instead, he sees a tiny imp. He takes the creature to the bathroom and carefully seals the crack below the door with a towel. He gives the fairy some milk, hoping that will restore her. Instead, she disappears down the bathtub drain. Seth avoids Kendra the rest of the morning. Later, he is working on the puzzle in the tree house when the fairies attack. They knock the tree house down and chase him. Kendra sees the chase and urges Seth to jump into the pool. The fairies begin firing magic at him and Kendra watches in horror as Seth begins to transform into a...
