Kinsey Millhone

Kinsey Millhone is a private investigator based out of Santa Teresa, California. Kinsey was orphaned as a small child when her parents died in a car accident. All of her life, Kinsey has survived without a family, making herself believe she did not need one. However, when Kinsey takes on a case involving a dysfunctional family, she begins to question her own beliefs about the importance of family. Kinsey is hired by Royce Fowler to prove that his son Bailey did not kill his girlfriend seventeen years ago. Bailey pleaded guilty to the crime but then escaped from prison before he finished his sentence. Bailey has recently been found and Royce wants to prove his innocence before Bailey is forced to go back to jail. Royce is also dying of cancer and wants his son's innocence proven before his own death.
