Chapter 24 Summary

Peter has offered to help Thomas make gifts together for their father, but Thomas has always refused and found later that Roland was much appreciative of Peter's gifts. Peter even offered to have Thomas join him when he began to take a glass of wine to his father every night, but Thomas again refused. Thomas was angry that the Chief Vintner had caught him attempting to steal a bottle of wine the day before, and that Peter expected him to help pay for a bottle even though all the wine technically belongs to their father.
