Chapters 29-32 Summary
In chapter twenty-nine, Bekker wakes from a drug induced stupor and begins to clean himself up. In the mirror, Bekker sees Druze's face staring back at him. In fact, Bekker sees Druze in every shiny surface in the house. At the same time, Lucas has Sloan ask permission of the cancer patients' parents to allow their bodies to be exhumed. When they have permission, Lucas waits in the medical examiner's office for the results. Just as Lucas thought, both patients show evidence of having their eyes cut with a sharp instrument such as a box cutter or scalpel.
In chapter thirty, Lucas gets Elle's opinion of a plan he has concocted to catch Bekker. Afterward, Lucas works with Carly, the reporter, in creating Druze's face over his own. Lucas then drives around Bekker's street and walks near his office in order...
