Chapters 26-28 Summary
In chapter twenty-six, Bekker enters Druze's apartment building without the cops watching the building recognizing him. Bekker goes to Cassie's apartment and convinces her to let him in when he pretends to be delivering flowers. Bekker pulls a gun and tells Cassie he needs to hide out there until he can safely meet with Druze. Bekker ties Cassie up with tape and attaches her to her own bed. Cassie tries to escape, but finds the tape chokes her each time she struggles. At about the same time, Lucas tries to decide if he should visit Cassie or go to a funeral home to learn if it would be possible for someone to mutilate a corpse in their care. Lucas chooses the funeral home.
