Aaron Falk
Aaron Falk is the main character of the novel. For the majority of Exiles, the third person narrator is inhabiting Falk’s consciousness and describing the narrative world the way that he sees it.
Twelve months after Kim Gillespie’s disappearance, Falk returns to Marralee to attend his friends Greg and Rita Raco’s baby’s christening. Because Raco and Rita chose Falk to be their child’s godfather, they are eager for him to attend the event. Falk has not been back to the small town for a year, and thus feels guilty for failing to keep up with the couple, the only two people whose friendship feels unconditional to Falk (13).
