Summary

The next section, called “Summer to Opening Day,” begins with Chapter 29. Dean came home one day and told Evvie that a coach for the Phillies saw a video of Dean pitching at the Claws game and wanted to observe him. In Chapter 30, Evvie and Dean invited Andy and Monica over to their house for dinner. Beforehand, Evvie got a call from her mother who wanted to get together with her. Andy and Monica asked Dean about his plan to go to Connecticut to meet the coach. Evvie felt optimistic about it. Evvie and Andy got tipsy and argued.
