Summary

In Chapter 7, Evvie spotted Dean, through her window, throwing pinecones as if he was attempting to pitch. When Dean came back inside the house, Evvie told him about the memorial for Tim and how she felt guilty because she did not love him. Later, Evvie read online about Dean losing his pitching ability. In Chapter 8, a reporter arrived at Evvie’s house to ask her about Dean and Evvie threatened her until she left. The reporter immediately wrote an article about the encounter. Evvie apologized to Dean, but he thought it was funny. In Chapter 9, Dean agreed to help give advice to the football team at the local high school.
