Summary
In the story “That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is in French,” when Carol heard the vaguely familiar words: “Floyd, what’s that over there? Oh shit,” (347) she began feeling she had been in that situation before. She was not sure who Floyd was though. The feeling became really strong when she saw a girl wearing a red pinafore. She and her husband, Bill, were on their way to Captiva to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Carol sensed Bill was irritated by her feelings of déjà vu.
