Chapters 13 and 14 Summary
"Fire!": Before describing events at the restaurant that night, Primrose says that while she was away, Uncle Jack had been working hard to bring her back home. He was, she added, actually eager to go to The Girl on the Red Swing to meet them. When they arrive, Evie and Bert notice "the mannequin hanging from the trapeze in the middle of the restaurant", the decoration that gave the place its name. As they're being seated, Jack attempts to get Miss Bowzer to consider a fancier recipe, but she flat out refuses. Then Miss Honeycut comes up to them as she's leaving and demands to be introduced to Evie and Bert, who take her to task for what she's been doing to Primrose.
