Summary
“Seven Stories” follows a woman named Kim. As the story opens, she arrives by airplane in a Caribbean island country that the story never specifically names. She is a writer of articles for an online culture publication. She was invited to visit the country by Callie Morrisette, the wife of the country’s current prime minister. Kim and Callie met once before, when they were both seven years old. Callie’s father was a popular prime minister, but he was suddenly assassinated one day. Afterward, seven-year-old Callie was sent to live with a relative in New York City. This relative was the neighbor of Kim and Kim’s mother. Callie eventually returned to the country, and Callie and Kim never contacted each other. Recently, Kim wrote an article about her brief friendship with Callie.
