Importance: Miranda says this after realizing Lucia has not informed Yonah about her mental illness. Though Miranda is intimately acquainted with her sister's condition, she still realizes she does not have jurisdiction over Lucia's story. This moment not only speaks to Miranda's love and respect for Lucia, but to the overarching narrative structure as well. No single individual owns the narrative, and therefore the author allows each of them to tell a version of their lives together and apart.
