Summary

Classes are back in session and the narrative still lies with Sunam. He has not yet broken up with Namin, despite resolving himself to do so many times. He still gets joy from the fact that Namin chose him out of everyone. Since his night with Jisun, Sunam begins to sleep with her regularly, mostly at Jisun’s house. Sunam dreads the thought of telling Namin about his infidelity, particularly that it has been with Jisun. During their visits, Sunam and Jisun talk about unimportant subjects. In her house with her, Sunam feels “insulated from reality” (270).
