Summary

Sunam and Namin ride a bus to Kyungmin’s house in Itaewon. Sunam only agrees to this trip because of his guilt, and now regrets his agreement to accompany Namin. Namin informs Sunam that Hal, Kyungmin’s boyfriend of sorts, does not speak Korean. Sunam disregards this fact, as he is not worried about building any kind of relationship with Hal or Kyungmin. He is generally uncomfortable about visiting them.

Factory workers board the bus; an American GI makes disparaging comments about them in English. An ajumma on the bus tells Namin to be careful around the American GI’s.
