Summary
Sunam is at Min Ahn’s house, but is at a loss for how to get inside. He stands before a huge iron gate. He is also two hours late. After second guessing his memory of the address, he had walked home from the bus stop to double check the address card in his dorm, causing the delay. Sunam finds an intercom on the gate and asks to be let in. Behind the gate, Sunam awes over beautiful landscaping and a house of wood and glass cut into the mountainside.
Inside, Sunam finds not as many people as he was expecting. He admires a painting he thinks he’s seen in a museum. A girl interrupts his thoughts, saying, “Bet you that’s a fake” (123). To Sunam, the girl looks like she does not belong, dressed in blue jeans and a white T-shirt...
