Chapters 19 - 27 Summary

In Chapter 19, Lucky, Lori, Jodi, and Dave leave for the Grand Canyon. Lucky is blown away by the beauty and grandeur. They check into their hotel, and Lucky and Dave go hiking on Bright Angel Trail. Dave is thrilled when Lucky tells him he hung out with a girl and her friends. Lucky explains to Dave how he ended up in Arizona, not because he wanted to kill himself, but because of the questionnaire at school. Dave tells Lucky that he can always talk to him, and Lucky considers Dave the father he never had.

In Chapter 20, as they drive around to take pictures, Lucky, Lori, Jodi, and Dave come across a group of college kids daring two of their friends to head out on the edge of the canyon. When they leave, Lucky thinks about how a split second can...
