Summary

This section begins in Ada’s experience in Sixth Grade as she endures bullying and racism from her peers at school. After returning home from school, she turns the music up so high the police come to the door responding to a noise complaint. She decides not to tell her father about the cops visiting. He tells her that her Aunty and cousins are coming from Nigeria to live with them.

Upon arrival, Ada’s Aunty comments on Ada’s weight and attempts to control Ada’s personal space and home environment to accommodate her own needs and wants, which includes attempting to make Ada lose weight.
