Chapters 11, 12, and 13 Summary

In chapter eleven, Bianca tries to talk to Lucas but he runs away. She can't decide whether she should talk to her parents but decides to wait, hoping she can make Lucas understand that she means him no harm. She sneaks to his room and finds the bed made and his possessions gone. She looks out the window and sees Lucas leaving the grounds along with other students who are going elsewhere for the Christmas break.

On the day of the first significant snowfall, Bianca and Balthazar go for a walk together. He says he died in 1691 and that he had a sister, Charity. He says Bianca is fortunate to be alive and that she can't realize that's a gift. He says the vampires at Evernight are hateful to the humans because they are jealous. He says he would give up...
