Chapters 4 and 5 Summary

In chapter four, Bianca is in bed - though fully dressed - when Mrs. Bethany walks Patrice into the room. She's surprised to see Bianca in bed but doesn't tell Mrs. Bethany that Bianca had been at the party as well. Later, Adrian asks Bianca about the party and she manages not to admit she was there without outright lying. They talk about school and Celia urges Bianca to try harder in Mrs. Bethany's class, English.

Bianca heads to class the following day, resolved to make a better impression on Mrs. Bethany. The reading assignment is "Dracula" and Raquel says, "Vampires?" Bianca feels an immediate crackling of electricity in the room. Mrs. Bethany is obviously angry at Raquel's questioning the assignment and challenges her to say why.
