Chapters 27 and 28 Summary

In Chapter Twenty-seven, Ever announces to Haven and Miles that she and Damen broke up and that he's gone. Miles and Haven invite Ever to the Winter Fantasy that weekend and she accepts though she's so uncomfortable in crowds. Ever steps away from Miles and Haven to look at purses but is so overwhelmed by the onslaught of thoughts and emotions she doesn't even try to bargain with the woman, though she knows the woman is willing. Ever then encounters a beautiful purple aura and looks more closely to realize it's Ava. Ever by then has a headache and Ava says she understands Ever's pain. She says she can help but Ever counters, saying she and Riley were fine before Ava's arrival in their lives. Ever then turns and walks away though she wants desperately to find relief for her pain...
