Chapters 4-8 Summary
Chapter 4. Sam and Paen arrive at his family home, which is a castle, and he takes her on a brief tour that ends in his library. Sam immediately recognizes it as the place where she went while engaging in astral projection. When she tells Paen, he quickly inspects his things and insists that nothing has been disturbed. Sam then lays on the floor and begins to commune with the house. Sam learns a great deal of the history of the castle, but there is no memory of the statue in the house. Sam concludes that this means that the statue was never in the house despite Paen's assumption that it must have been. When Sam is done, Paen joins her on the floor and suggests they indulge their experiment. However, before they can get far Sam gets a call from Clare...
