Self-Identity

An individual is sometimes unable to see all aspects of his self-identity because of how others see him or the events that take place in his life. In this novel, several characters either struggle with their self-identity or have a strong sense of self, both based mostly on how others see them.

Peril is a SkyWing dragon who was born with firescales – overheated scales that kill any living thing on contact. Peril grew up under the rule of an evil queen named Scarlet who used Peril to kill other dragons, often for entertainment. The result is that almost everyone Peril encounters demonstrates hatred and fear, and Peril sees herself as a weapon, unworthy of friendship even though she desires friends so much. Peril is trying to change and curbs her desire to kill dragons who make her angry, but she can still kill anyone she touches...
