Chapter 12

Pages 218-226: Kulwinder marches home with the widows' binder of stories under her arm. She tells Sarab that the widows have not only been sharing their secrets and their desires but that they have told Nikki about Maya, endangering them both. She mentions Nikki's theory about Jaggi's writing and the registration form, but downplays the significance of what such proof could mean, even as she remembers how much the suicide note had not sounded like Maya. Sarab confirms that Jaggi is left-handed and becomes hopeful. The reader learns that it has been Jaggi's voice at the end of the line each time Kulwinder received a threatening call for trying to find answers.
