Section 11: Chapter 16 Summary

Feeling imprisoned, Enna considers helping Sileph but is disconcerted by her willingness to burn Bayern and worries the fire is consuming her will. Two days later, a Tiran woman brings wine to the soldiers, and bursting from her tent, Enna is shocked to see Isi. Since the guards forbid Isi to visit with Enna, Isi talks to the guards about Sileph's gift of people-speaking as a means of warning Enna, and then she tells a story about how a country is unable to save their prince from a dragon because they must defend their land instead. Touched that her friendship with Isi is not lost, Enna decides she must demonstrate her loyalty.
