Chapters 53-56 Summary

Captain de Soya wakes early from his resurrection in chapter 53. He had set the resurrection cycles to a dangerous six hours instead of three days. Gregorius's resurrection is unsuccessful, and de Soya discovers Nemes's crèche is empty. De Soya orders the ship to get as close to the planet as possible to get a view of what is going on, but he has no way of getting to the planet's surface.

In Chapter 54, Aenea's group travel easily through down the river. A few rapid get their attention, but nothing they cannot handle. Then they come to the microfilament. Raul dives onto Aenea and into the water. A. Bettik looses an arm. Raul and Aenea do not fall for the trap laced with microexplosives, and carry A. Bettik further upstream. The Shrike appears again to fight Nemes. They seem to appear...
