Chapter 45-48 Summary

In Chapter 45, the Raphael reaches Sol Draconi Septem. The inner workings of the top secret Raphael are explained. The super speed drive that exceeds light speed is a hoax. The ship is controlled by the Core who uses a device to, "tear though the fabric of space and time itself" to give the illusion of super speed (451). Rhadamanth Nemes does not die on the trip, and rises from her crèche to head to the surface of Sol Draconi Septem while her crewmates are awaiting resurrection. At the end of the chapter, she has used a shape shifting finger to probe Father Glaucus's brain.
