Summary

Chapter 26: Ferrucci begins as they enter a room filled with books. Byx wonders how much knowledge is contained in all of the books and wanders to them. Ferrucci arrives and Khara shows him Byx. She reveals herself as Dairne, stunning Ferrucci. He demands that Luca lock the door and Khara is confused by Ferrucci’s panic. Luca tells her that Murdano’s men are masquerading as students and Khara says she wants to protect Byx. Ferrucci tells Luca to take Byx to a cell and says the conversation never took place. He says he is doing what is best and refuses to let Tobble go with Byx. She follows Luca into the dungeon.
