Class Distinctions
Because Ellie and Mike have inhabited such different worlds as dictated by their socio-economic standings, the differences between the rich and the poor are often discussed as they try to understand one another. As a result of their standings in life, Ellie and Mike were raised differently. They have different outlooks about life and different ways in which they are responsible to the people who raised them.
