Chapters 6-8 Summary
In Chapter 6, Katerina expresses her fear to her father that Baba Yaga has somehow sent Ivan to them. King Matfei, however, tells Katerina that he believes that Ivan has a king's heart. However, Matfei worries that Ivan does not have a king's mind and cannot lead his people into battle. In the forest, a weaver named Nadya gets a visit from an old woman she has befriended. The woman shows her a hoose and tells her that she saw the newcomer, Ivan, wearing it. This is very scandalous and Nadya agrees to ask her son, Sergei, about it. Sergei is a scribe for the local priest, Father Lukas.
The next morning, Brother Sergei wakes Ivan and asks him about the hoose. Ivan explains that in his world wearing something like that is acceptable and Sergei agrees to keep the information about...
