Arthur Sackler
Arthur Sackler was the eldest of the three Sackler brothers. He embodied drive and ambition and even in high school, he worked multiple jobs simultaneously while studying and achieving top marks. When he graduated from high school, he passed down his part-time jobs to his younger brothers so that they too could have a life of deep study and hard work. Arthur was always gifted in advertising and when he attended medical school, he moonlighted as an ad man.
Arthur trained as a psychiatrist in medical school, and his brothers followed suit. Soon after graduating with an M.D., Arthur spearheaded an effort to create a more effective minor tranquilizer; Librium and Valium were the result of this quest.
