Summary
Chapter 21 opens with a lengthy description of Turks and Caicos, a small British overseas territory. The archipelago islands lie between the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. The superrich vacation here, and the younger Mortimer Sackler buys a residence in the resort here (the resort's name is Amanyara). Mortimer Jr. is a pale imitation of his world-traveling father, and his wife Jacqueline is always a stern taskmaster. They spend most of their days involved in philanthropy that will allow them to climb even further up the social ladder in New York City.
Mortimer Jr. fears that Purdue should be further diversified in the wake of the Virginia decision that held Udell, Goldenheim, and Friedman responsible for malfeasance in the marketing and sale of Oxycontin.
