Part 4, Chapter 28 Summary
Janine is not happy. Not only has she discovered that Walt's true age is 60, she has now learned that he is broke as well. When Janine went to the bank to cash a check on their joint account there were not enough funds to cash it. Janine also learns that the cheap house Walt owns is twice mortgaged and the land he claims to own is a fiction. Janine gets someone to cover her shift at the health club, barks at a few customers, including one fat old lady who comments that when she dies her nephew will probably just sling her over his shoulder and carry her off to the landfill like that Voss boy did with his grandmother. Janine says under his breath that he could only do that if he rented a forklift, then heads for the one...
