Summary
Daniel continues to walk the course straight on. He falls asleep and when he opens his eyes, he sees a horse hovering above him. Vivien is riding the horse and tells him about the fire in his house. Daniel says that he was there and ran away. Vivien had been riding for two hours to find him. She tells him that she saw a figure emerging from the house while it was on fire last night. She had ventured there thinking the fire was too big to be a bonfire and watched the blaze. The figure that emerge could have been Daniel's sister, and Vivien says this is possibly so. Vivien says that she could come home with her, but Daniel says that he has his own family. Vivien says that the figure moved toward the tracks, and Daniel decides to follow them, hoping...
