Summary

Daniel is woken up suddenly in the middle of the night by his dogs barking. Daddy receives a visitor at the door. Daniel does not recognize the visitor's voice but listens to their conversation. The visitor tells Daddy that a young boy was strangled in the woods, and that the wounds on his neck could only have been done by a very strong man. Daddy denies that he had anything to do with killing a boy in the woods, but Mr Price decides that it was Daddy who did it. The dead boy is Mr Price's son, Charlie.
