Rowan

Rowan is a teenage girl who has lived most of her life in hiding as a second child in a society that limits all couples to a single child. Second children, as illegal members of this society, are arrested and killed. Rowan has learned that she was actually born before her twin brother, Ash, but Ash has a medical condition. Her parents chose to let Ash have the benefits of the first born in order to get him the medical help necessary for him to live.

As this novel of the series opens, Rowan is living above ground as the entitled daughter of a government official. She has assumed the identity of Yarrow and believes the back story that has actually been implanted by group of government agents as as part of an elaborate experiment. Rowan feels there is something missing from her life but does not remember...
