Summary
In Chapter 3, Pearl has put on a theatrical performance to win the contest, lying about her poor upbringing and her hard-working mother. She gives her prize – the pass into the elite inner circle entertainment district – to a beggar on the public transportation. The four girls plan to go to a club next and Pearl takes them to a new place called Tidal. They are not allowed inside because they are too young, and they have to sneak in a back entrance. There is a water slide and Rowan barely hesitates before taking the leap. The others follow. The club is based on water, though this water is artificially manipulated. There is a pool that has huge waves and Pearl soon leaps in, swimming around. Rowan jumps in as well and discovers she cannot swim. A guard pulls her out and takes the girls...
