Vivian's house
The house, inherited from her great-aunt, is where Vivian spends most of her time and feels most at ease and like she can be herself. She immerses herself in her great-aunt's belongings and allows her imagination to run wild here, yet she feels the need to venture out into the world again every day.
The city of Dublin
The whole city seems to be a place where Vivian feels free, and even compelled, to roam around and interact with random people. It is also primarily where she hopes, and tries, to find the portal to another world she is so determined to go through. The specific places she goes to each day, and the direction she goes in, inspires a hand-drawn map of the route she has taken upon returning home.
