Summary
In Chapter 16, Vivian wakes up from a strange dream and goes to the supermarket to buy pink apples, then goes to a hospital cafeteria to get lunch but has to put some stuff back as she does not have enough money. She traces the outline of the food instead then ponders how people cannot obtain food without a certain amount of coins. A homeless man approaches her for spare change then she goes to the nearby library to look at unusual collections and a display of Islamic calligraphy. Looking at a few other displays she imitates one of them then walks down the streets, noticing another clock that is at the wrong time. She goes home to trace her route today then takes steps to ensure she has a luck dream that night.
