Kirinva Stone
Every member of the Hale family wears a kirinva stone, a symbol of their high status and a talisman believed to offer divine protection. Roselyn entrusted hers to Gaven when he set off for Althaea, and Gaven has cherished it ever since as a precious reminder of Roselyn and the promise to return it when they reunite. In the series' conclusion, Gaven hands the stone to Mirari, who accepts it as a symbol of her acceptance of herself and the Hale identity she once rejected. When Cygnus perishes and Mirari's body is destroyed, the kirinva stone is all that remains of her. In the novel’s epilogue, the woman Gaven encounters is likely Mirari, who may have survived through the stone’s protective power.
