Soteria

Soteria, also known as Eir, was Erel’s servant and best friend from the Belligmn Tribe. On the night Laikos massacred their tribe, she helped Erel escape but returned to save Erel’s family, only to witness them being slaughtered one by one. Laikos spared Eir because she was a helpless child with no shapeshifting abilities. Over thirty years later, Eir reappears as Soteria, one of the masked "men" in the final battle at the Hearth at the end of *Knights of the Alliance*, where Laikos was killed. Soteria was resurrected by Lachess, and upon realizing that her lover, Laikos, was dead, she sought revenge by gathering his followers into a new subgroup of the Blessed known as the Defiants. With dark aura granted by Lachess, Soteria began her reign over the empires.
